Q&A With
Lily Scott
My current goal is to develop my running, having built consistency and now focusing on higher-quality sessions to improve performance. I’m also aiming to race more outside the UK, working hard to meet criteria for European Cups and gain experience in elite fields.
The foundation has supported me during my study year abroad in Australia by assisting with coaching fees, which allowed me to join and train with Warwick Dalziel's elite squad. This has developed and improved my training massively, while enabling me to continue training and racing at a very high level while studying in Brisbane.
My favourite moment so far has been joining a Spanish team, Tritones Rioja, and racing in Banyoles this summer. It was an incredible experience to be part of an international team environment and to compete in both the individual and relay events. The atmosphere, racing alongside strong athletes, and learning from the team made it a really special experience.
What I love most about triathlon is the amazing friendships I’ve built, the opportunity to meet new people, and the chance to travel and experience new places through international racing.
I’m currently studying Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Leeds. I love travelling and discovering new places, opportunities I’ve been able to enjoy through both my studies and racing. Outside sport I also enjoy music and attending live events with my mates.

"I've been sport-obsessed from a young age, competing in as many sports as possible, and after reaching an elite level in swimming, I transitioned to triathlon for the variety and challenge of combining three disciplines and the excitement of the unpredictability of racing."
