Filip Nowacki

Filip trained at Tiger Swimming Club on the island of Jersey and won three medals at last year's Commonwealth Youth Games and a silver medal at the European Youth Olympics. One to watch, he broke the British age group record for 16-year-olds in the 100m breaststroke at the Great Britain Swimming Championships in 2024 and is predicted to be a future Olympic champion.

Filip is now training at Millfield School in Somerset, which has produced previous Olympic champions James Guy and Matt Richards. In eight years, at 24, Filip will be at the peak age for swimming.

“When I was little, I was lucky that my parents let me try any sport I could imagine, and that’s how I tried triathlon and met Louise, the inspiration behind the LouLou Race Foundation.

When I was 14, due to the high volume of training, I decided to focus on swimming.

I was very lucky to represent Jersey at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2023 and Team GB at the European Youth Olympics.

The highlight of 2024 was a silver medal at the European Junior Championships.

Millfield School allows me to pursue my swimming and academic career, and my goal for this season is to return to an International Junior Team.

My future ambitions include getting good grades in my A-Levels while maintaining a high standard of competing. Thanks to the LouLou Race Foundation, I can afford the travel costs and all the kit that’s needed.”
