Luke Holmes

Luke Holmes grew up in Jersey and first started out in the Jersey Tristars - a fun introduction to triathlon for younger children on the island. He then joined the Junior Youth team at Jersey Triathlon Academy, which is progressing and developing athletes towards national and international racing.

In 2023, while representing Jersey, Luke achieved a gold medal in the Commonwealth Youth Games 2023, which was held in Trinidad and Tobago. He then secured his first-ever age-group victory at the British Triathlon Super Series, securing top positions in each race.

“I was raised in a family that has always participated in —and often competed in—triathlons at a high level. I started the sport at a young age and haven't stopped since! I currently train in Jersey, swimming with Jersey Tigers and coached by Lee Merrien and Jodie Swallow.

I want to continue racing internationally, with my aim of making both the world and junior GB teams alongside the European Junior Cup and Super Series Racing in 2025.

In the future, I hope to continue racing triathlon at a performance level and aspire to compete at the senior Commonwealth Games after my success at the youth level. I also want to race each individual discipline, with bike racing and track running being of particular interest.”
